Spring Work Day March '10

We recently had a work day to pull weeds, plant plants around the perimeter of the garden and set up our patio with our new picnic tables. We put those new tables and umbrellas to use right away and enjoyed a perfect day to be outside. Thanks to all who showed up to work and a special thanks to Ryan Moody, landscape architect, who helped us purchase 80 plants at a great rate and then gave us a lesson in how to properly plant them. We can't wait to see how they all grow this season- the garden already is looking better!

Super Storm 2010

We can't see much in the garden these days besides lots of snow! But it will make it that much sweeter once we can get outside and spend some time in the sun as garden season starts up again.

I finally found pictures of the garden before it was a garden. Here are a couple of shots of the alley. And this is after chopping down the weeds that were as big as us and moving most of the vehicles.

We are still looking good late into August. Everyone has tons of tomatoes (maybe too many) and the plots are still green and productive.

Lookin' Good

Here are some pictures taken at the end of June. We have had a great first year- thanks in part to all the rain we have had. But everyone's gardens look great and we have quite a variety of things growing.
