The fence is up!

Our second work day was on November 8th. We were to put up the fence. I must say I was a little skeptical that we would get much done but we were lucky to get some extra help. P&P Construction sent some (like 14) guys out to help us with our project. Needless to say, they were awesome and the whole fence went up before the day was over. So a big thanks goes out to P&P Construction for volunteering their time and expertise to our garden and the community!

Our first work day- Oct. 25, 2008

Our first work day consisted of clearing the land and digging holes for the fence. Tom rented some vehicle to do the heavy work and we had a great turn out from everyone. Luckily the rain held out and we were able to get some work done.

We are on our way!!!

So after many months of waiting we finally got the go-ahead to start the garden. The church that owned the land finally made a decision to lease it to us for 2 years. We have a lot of people to thank- but especially Pat Taylor for helping Tom to find his way in getting this whole project off the ground.

I will post all the Garden rules and what not as we figure them out. This blog is a work in progress too...

Here is the plot of land prior to any work. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture with the 10 foot weeds that were there not too long ago.
