Lookin' Good

Here are some pictures taken at the end of June. We have had a great first year- thanks in part to all the rain we have had. But everyone's gardens look great and we have quite a variety of things growing.

Kids in the Garden

We have loads of kids in Green East Garden! There has been lots of fun in the garden already and we are still planning to put a sandbox in and plant some kid friendly/butterfly friendly plants! I think everyone is looking forward to many more fun filled days in the garden.

The patio starts to come together- part 1

We started the patio on April 18th and had a beautiful day outside! Lots of folks showed up so we got a lot accomplished- although we still need some more pavers. And check out some of the plots- can you tell it's spring time!! The kids have enjoyed watering their plants (and sometimes anything they can) and watching it all grow.

March 09- The dirt is delivered

Here is the garden as we start to build the plots and set them up. And pictures of the big pile of dirt. Again, lots of fantastic work by the whole garden community.

The fence is up!

Our second work day was on November 8th. We were to put up the fence. I must say I was a little skeptical that we would get much done but we were lucky to get some extra help. P&P Construction sent some (like 14) guys out to help us with our project. Needless to say, they were awesome and the whole fence went up before the day was over. So a big thanks goes out to P&P Construction for volunteering their time and expertise to our garden and the community!

Our first work day- Oct. 25, 2008

Our first work day consisted of clearing the land and digging holes for the fence. Tom rented some vehicle to do the heavy work and we had a great turn out from everyone. Luckily the rain held out and we were able to get some work done.
